You see how we mobilize our Fast Falling Weight Deflectometer? Very Demure. Very Mindful.

Our team headed West to Riverside, California to perform deflection testing using our Fast FWD (Fast Falling Weight Deflectometer). Fast FWDs apply a known load to the pavement and measure the pavement response to the load

Deflection testing is usually completed at least once in each direction in every street segment (every 300 – 500 feet) along the outside lanes of the roadway.

A series of geophones records deflection readings for each section of pavement tested.

These readings are used to determine the pavement strength, load transfer capabilities, and identify properties of the base and sub-grade.
