What is crack sealing anyway?
We’re glad you asked. Crack sealing is a preventive maintenance technique used to repair and extend the life of asphalt pavements. The cracks are filled with a sealant that prevents water or other elements from getting into the pavement layers below the surface. There are many steps in the process that include crack cleaning, crack preparation, material application and finally, cooling and curing. Once this process is complete the life of the pavement may be extended and will be safer for our communities.
Did you know: identifies all major pavement distresses, including alligator cracking, longitudinal and transverse cracking, roughness, rutting, and raveling. Each distress type is meticulously documented by extent and severity for a thorough understanding of pavement health. This detailed analysis enables targeted maintenance and repair strategies that we recommend addressing the root causes of pavement deterioration.
