Did you know that May marks National Bicycle Month?!
This initiative, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists, has been recognized since 1956. It is a time to celebrate the many benefits of cycling and encourage everyone to give it a try!
Biking is not only about recreation and exercise but also a mode of transportation for many. In 2022, more than two-thirds of the 2.4 billion bike trips taken in the US were for non-recreational purposes! Check out the recent statistics from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration on the various purposes of bike trips.
Join us as we celebrate Bike Month 2024! Whether commuting during Bike to Work Week, taking a leisurely ride around the neighborhood, or participating in National Ride A Bike Day (that’s on May 5th), there is something for everyone.
️ Save the Date:
Bike to Work Week: May 13-19, 2024
Bike to Work Day: Friday, May 17
Whether cycling for fun, fitness, or running errands, you contribute to safer streets, connected communities, a healthier planet, and overall happier people. Remember, safety always comes first! May is also Bicycle Safety Month, and both cyclists and motorists should prioritize safety on the roads. Everyone contributes to ensuring a safe and enjoyable biking experience.
Together let’s pedal toward a brighter, healthier future!
